Scenario and Program States

States are settings that you configure to communicate the status of each program and scenario built to show multi-year plans. They are listed in menus to help understand what state each program or scenario is at in the creation process.

Create a Program State

Program states focus on specific asset categories and use the metrics to model maintenance costs and monetized risk over time. To create a new program state:

  1. Click Create program state.

  2. In the window that opens, enter a title and enable the applicable settings. Then, at the bottom of the window, click Create program state.

    These options are available.

    • Lock program prevents further program changes.

    • Lock recomputing prevents recalculation of asset’s algorithms.

    • Treat assets prevents an asset from use in another program.

Once the program state is created, the title and lock settings can be modified from the list.

Create a Scenario State

Scenario states focus on showing the scenario status and the publishing viability for each scenario. The state is mapped to a program state and color coded for easy reference.

To create a new scenario state:

  1. Click Create scenario state.

  2. Enter a title and select a color.

  3. Select what the program is set to with this scenario state.

  4. Enable Lock scenario or Publish scenario as needed, then click Create scenario state.

Once the scenario state is created, they can be modified from the list.
