Standard waveform capture

The meter’s Waveform Recorder modules support standard waveform capture.

B-08646: Show one waveform graphic.  Standard captures everything at trigger point and earlier (buffered record, 1 record is the capture "frame", equal to resolution x number of cycles).  Delayed captures post-event data equal to the value set in the Delay register. Extended is the same as Standard, except there is pre-event (0.5 seconds at 512 samples/cycle) and post-event (2.5 seconds) records captured.

Reuse existing graphic.  Add a "frame" that represents one record - which is the format (for example, 1024x2)

One frame is captured for standard and delayed waveform capture.  Trigger at standard (default, normal, whatever you want to call it) waveform recording captures the buffered frame, i.e., at the end of the frame, which means no post-trigger data.  Delayed waveform recording does not trigger the capture until after the delay period elapses (this way you get the post-trigger waveform capture).

Extended waveform capture is like the standard waveform capture, except you can specify additional frames (records) to be captured previous to and after the triggered recording. Marketing says minimum 0.5 seconds pre-trigger (1.0 desired) and 3.0 seconds post-trigger.

The Waveform Recorder module captures one waveform record every time its Record input is triggered. One waveform record is defined by the module’s Format setup register, expressed as (number of samples per cycle) x (number of cycles per waveform record). For example, if Format is set to 512x4, that means one waveform record is made up of 4 cycles of waveform data at 512 samples per cycle resolution.

A standard waveform capture saves one buffered waveform record at the Record trigger time. Only pre-trigger waveform data is captured in this mode. No post-trigger waveform cycles are recorded.
