Configure Windows Firewall

Configure the Windows Firewall to allow users access to the web server. If you do not perform this configuration, users will not be able to access the web server.

Windows 7, 8 & 10

  1. From the Windows Control Panel, select System and Security.
  2. Select Windows Firewall, then Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall. In Windows 8 & 10 look for: Allow an app or freature Windows Firewall.
  3. Check the box next to Web Management Service (HTTP) for your Network type (Domain, Home/Work (Private), or Public).
  4. Click OK.

Windows Server 2012 & 2016

  1. From the Windows Control Panel, select System and Security.
  2. Select Windows Firewall, then Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall. In Windows 8 & 10 look for: Allow an app or freature Windows Firewall.
  3. Check the box next to World Wide Web Services (HTTP) for your Network type (Domain, Home/Work (Private), or Public).
  4. Click OK.
