Populate Required Rack and Device Fields

If you fail to populate certain fields in your data, you may receive an error in the Wavepoint rack views:

The same lack of required data may also result in unexpected and incorrect rack display results:

The solution to both of these potential problems is the same. In order to properly display and use rack and device data in Wavepoint, you must populate particular fields in your data:

IMPORTANT: The contents of FIBERGRIDPOSITION fields can remain null if those fields are for an object that does not belong to a rack.

End Device Fields

If Active Devices are being used, you need to populate Active Device fields similar to the Passive Device fields above.

If SFPs are being used, you need to populate the fields below:

  • PORTNUMBER

SFP Split Port Fields

  • FIBERPARENT
