Communications setup
The setup screen allows you to configure the meter’s RS-485 communications port so you can use software to access the meter’s data or configure the meter remotely.
To turn on communication in setup screen, follow these steps:
- From the Home page, use Up or Down button to navigate to Maintain.
- Press OK.
- Use Up or Down button to navigate to Set.
- Press OK.
- Enter password. Default password is 0000.
- Press OK.
- Use UP or Down button to select Comm (communication).
- Press OK.
- Press the Down button to select ON from the list.
- Press OK.
- Press Left button.
- Select Yes (press OK button) to save your settings.
RS-485 communication parameters
Parameter | Values | Description |
---|---|---|
Unit ID | 1 to 247 | Set the address for this device. The address must be unique for each device in a communications loop. |
Baud Rate | 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400 | Select the speed for data transmission. The baud rate must be the same for all devices in a communications loop. |
Parity | Even Odd None | Select None if the parity bit is not used. The parity setting must be the same for all devices in a communications loop. Parity is measured in number of stop bits. |
