Running Utility Network Traces
Perform a Utility Network Electric Trace
To perform an electric trace on the Utility Network, perform the following steps.
-
On the Toolbar, open the Electric Traces menu.
-
Click on the desired trace type. A checkmark displays in the upper corner to indicate it is selected. The Trace Options pane displays on the left of your browser.
-
Click on the map to identify a starting location for the trace. All traces allow for single or multiple start points.
NOTE: When using multiple start points, you can select up to five. The result set from a trace containing multiple start points will show in the same color. -
If more than one feature is identified as the starting location, select the desired feature and click Run. Results are highlighted on the map and tabular results are displayed in the bottom half of the browser.
-
To add barriers to your trace, click the Add a Barrier button, then click on the map where you'd like to place the barrier. Repeat this for each barrier you want to add. Up to 10 barriers can be added.
-
Use the Clear Trace icon to remove the flag and trace results from the map.
-
To change the trace type and run a new trace, click the current trace type to turn it off, then click the new trace type to turn on the different trace type. NOTE: Gas and Water traces for a utility network function the same way, but each of them only has the option to run System or Isolation traces.
