Remove the PDU from the Pallet

  1. Follow the lifting directions marked on the packaging.
  2. Move the PDU as close as possible to the final location with a forklift before unpacking. Only use a forklift with the required specifications.
    WARNING
    Heavy load
    The product is large and heavy: 4800 kg (10582 lbs). Only lift and move the product using a forklift with the following required specifications:
    • Forklift load capacity: > 5000 kg (11023 lbs)
    • Forklift fork length: > 1400 mm (55.11 in)
    • Forklift fork width (for lifting PDU on pallet): > 1800 mm (70.87 in)
    Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or equipment damage.
  3. Remove the packaging. Remove the packaging bag (marked (A) in the illustration) without cutting it – save the packaging bag (A) for later use. Keep the plastic covering on the display to protect it from damages during installation.

  4. Remove the front and rear anchoring brackets. Save and reuse the anchoring brackets and hardware if the PDU requires anchoring to the floor. See PDU installation manual for details.

  5. Remove the front and rear transportation brackets.

  6. Lift the PDU off of the pallet using a forklift with the required specifications:
    WARNING
    Heavy load
    The product is large and heavy: 4650 kg (10251 lbs). Only lift and move the product using a forklift with the following required specifications:
    • Forklift load capacity: > 5000 kg (11023 lbs)
    • Forklift fork length: > 1400 mm (55.11 in)
    • Forklift fork width (for lifting PDU) : > 1000 mm (39.37 in)
    Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or equipment damage.
    1. Insert the forks in the openings on the front of the PDU. Place the forks as far to the sides as possible as shown.

    2. Lift the PDU slowly off of the pallet. Pay close attention to the balance of the PDU while lifting. Keep a safety distance of 100-130 mm (4-5 in) between the product and the forklift to avoid damaging the product during lifting.
    3. Lower the forks slowly when placing the PDU on the floor.
      WARNING
      Tipping hazard
      • Insert the forks as instructed.
      • Lift and lower the PDU slowly.
      • Pay close attention to the balance of the PDU while lifting.
      Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or equipment damage.
  7. Place the PDU as close to the final installation position as possible. Keep a rear clearance of 1 meter (3.3 feet) for access to install the rear kick plates.
    TIP: If the installation site is ready for final positioning of the PDU, you can install the rear kick plates as described in the next step. This will reduce the need for the forklift during installation. If the installation site is not ready for final positioning of the PDU OR if the PDU requires anchoring to the floor, skip the next step and go to step 9 in this procedure. Installation of rear kick plates can also be done during installation of the PDU.
  8. Option: If the installation site is ready for final positioning of the PDU:
    1. Install the four rear kick plates (2 x TME40741 and 2 x TME40742) on the PDU. Use four screws (provided) for each kick plate.

    2. Lift the PDU to the final installation location using a forklift with the required specifications.
      NOTICE
      Risk of equipment damage
      The forks of the forklift cannot be inserted completely into the PDU when the rear kick plates are installed.
      Failure to follow these instructions can result in equipment damage.

  9. Store manuals and documentation in the documentation compartment in the PDU front door. Cover the PDU with the protective packaging bag (A) until time of installation.

TIP: You can install the front and rear kick plates to protect against rodent entry until the time of installation. See the installation manual for details on how to install the front and rear kick plates.
