Energy Reduction Maintenance Setting (ERMS) Test
ERMS Test Requirements
The system should be tested upon initial start-up and:

in accordance with a facility maintenance schedule;
if any of the components in the system are replaced;

if any work is done in the area of the system wiring;

if required per installation requirements.

ERMS Engagement / Disengagement
MasterPacT™ MTZ circuit breakers provide two means of engaging the ERMS function when used with the ERMS digital module (LV850009):

Use of the EcoStruxure Power Device App for Android and iOS.

Use of a physical switch
The EcoStruxure Power Device application allows user to engage/disengage the ERMS function via Bluetooth wireless communication using Android or iOS compatible devices.
Android™ devices can also engage/disengage ERMS through a direct connection to the control unit's USB port using a USB OTG (On The Go) cable.
The physical switch option allows the user to engage/disengage the circuit breaker’s ERMS function.

Energy Reduction Maintenance Setting (ERMS) Trip Test

Connect the PC to the MicroLogic control unit using a USB cable. |

On the PC, open the EcoStruxure Power Commission software and click “Connect to device directly” (A). This will allow the user to access the MasterPacT MTZ circuit breaker through the software. |

The protection settings are available under the configure option in device view: Click on “CONNECT TO DEVICE” (B) to connect through direct USB connection. |

If it is not necessary to view/change the protection settings, skip to step 5 below. To view/change the protection setting:
NOTE: The default password is 0000.

Engage the ERMS. The control unit screen should turn blue and the ERMS LED is blue when the ERMS is in engaged state. Refer to MasterPacT MTZ Energy Reduction Maintenance Settings (ERMS) User Guide (0614IB1802) for steps to engage/disengage ERMS using the physical ERMS switch or the EcoStruxure Power Device smartphone app. NOTE: The ERMS setting cannot be changed when
the ERMS is engaged.

Confirm that the device view page shows “ERMS ENGAGED” beside the circuit breaker name (I). Click on “Automatic trip tests” (J). |

On The automatic trip Curve screen, select Pre-configured (K) or Custom test point (L). For Pre-configured Test point : Select ERMS and any other set of trip curve that needs to be tested (M). Select the Protection test from the list to be performed (N). Note: For ERMS trip curve it is mandatory to select instantaneous protection test. |

Click on “RUN TEST” (O). |

Read the NOTICE screen. If understood, click on “I UNDERSTAND” (P) to proceed. |

Enter the password and click “CONTINUE” (Q) NOTE: The default password is “0000”.

On completion of the ERMS test, reset the control unit and close the circuit breaker to proceed to the next test. |

To move to the next step, disengage the ERMS and confirm the ERMS is disengaged. Click on “CONFIRM”. |

On completion of the selected trip tests, the test results for all selected trip curves are displayed on the bottom of the screen. |

Click on the Reports tab and select Automatic trip test report to generate the test report. |

The test report shows the trip test result and can be saved as a pdf or printed. |
