Assembling the Sub-Feed Circuit Breaker Deadfront Assembly

  • Apply appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe electrical work practices. See NFPA 70E, CSA Z462, or NOM-029-STPS.
  • This equipment must only be installed and serviced by qualified electrical personnel.
  • Turn off all power supplying this equipment before working on or inside equipment.
  • Always use a properly rated voltage sensing device to confirm power is off.
  • Replace all devices, doors and covers before turning on power to this equipment.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.
  1. Remove the line and load end deadfront covers from the deadfront assembly. Discard the 10-32 x 7/16-in. mounting screws and deadfront covers.

  2. Mount the line end deadfront cover using two 10-32 x 7/16-in. mounting screws supplied in the kit. Refer to Deadfront Cover Selection (below) for deadfront cover selection.

    NOTE: Place the line end deadfront cover and the branch circuit breaker cover based on the top feed or bottom feed orientation.

  3. Assemble the circuit breaker deadfront cover onto the deadfront extension supplied in the kit and install onto the deadfront assembly using the new 1032 x 7/16-in. mounting screws, also supplied in the kit. Install the circuit breaker escutcheon by pressing it against the circuit breaker deadfront cover and snap it into place.
