Remove the UPS from the Pallet

WARNING

Do not put your hands or feet under the cabinet while removing the pallet parts.

Ensure that the floor is level and can support the weight of the jack when it carries the cabinet.

Be careful not to damage the cabinet when using the jack.

  1. Move the UPS cabinet as close as possible to the final location with a pallet truck or a forklift before unpacking.
  2. Remove the cardboard packaging. Remove the packaging bag (marked (A) in the illustration) without cutting it – save the packaging bag (A) for later use.
  3. Remove the power module tool from the pallet. Save the power module tool for later use. The power module tool is needed to remove the power modules from the UPS.

  4. Open the front doors.
  5. Disconnect the display signal cable and the two LED strip signal cables from the cabinet. Roll up and fasten the signal cables to the doors so they do not get damaged. Remove the front doors. Store the front doors safely until reinstallation.
  6. Remove the 12 wood screws and three long bolts from the left and right side of the pallet. Remove the left and right wooden parts.

  7. Remove the three floor protection plates (870-67542) from the rear of the cabinet. Reinstall the two M8x30 screws. Save the three floor protection plates (870-67542) for later use.

  8. Remove the wood screws from the long transportation bracket in the rear of the cabinet. Remove the jack (870-67016). Save the jack for later use.

  9. Place a floor protection plate (870-67542) under the middle part of the wooden pallet on the rear of the cabinet.

  10. Insert the jack (870-67016) in the long transportation bracket on the rear of the cabinet. Use a drilling machine or a wrench to turn the jack to the right until the jack makes contact with the floor protection plate. Continue turning the jack to lift the cabinet.
    NOTE: Reduce the drill torque to the minimum to prevent kickback.

  11. When the rear of the cabinet rests on the jack, remove the rear part of the wooden pallet.

  12. Remove the middle part of the wooden pallet (marked (B) in the illustration). Remove the screws to disassemble the middle part of the wooden pallet. Save the two wooden blocks marked (C) in the illustration) for later use.

  13. Lower the rear leveling feet on the UPS with a wrench to a height of 60 mm. Place two floor protection plates (870-67542) beneath the rear leveling feet to protect the floor.

  14. Use a drilling machine or a wrench to turn the jack to lower the cabinet until the rear leveling feet have contact with the floor protection plates (870-67542). Turn the jack until it can be removed from the long transportation bracket (0M-94887).
    NOTE: Reduce the drill torque to the minimum to prevent kickback.

  15. Remove the eight M8x30 screws and the long transportation bracket (0M-94887) from the cabinet. Save the long transportation bracket (0M-94887), the jack (870-67016) and the floor protection plate (870-67542). The eight M8x30 screws can be saved as extra screws.

  16. Insert the two wooden blocks (marked (C) in the illustration) under the cabinet as shown.

  17. Remove the front brackets.
    1. Firstly, remove the screws from the pallet.
    2. Secondly, remove the eight M8x30 screws from the cabinet. Save for reuse.

  18. Install the long transportation bracket (0M-94887) on the front of the cabinet with the eight M8x30 screws from the front.

  19. Place the floor protection plate (870-67542) under the front part of the wooden pallet.
  20. Insert the jack (870-67016) in the long transportation bracket (0M-94887). Use a drilling machine or a wrench to turn the jack to the right until the jack makes contact with the floor protection plate. Continue turning the jack to lift the cabinet.
    NOTE: Reduce the drill torque to the minimum to prevent kickback.

  21. When the front of the cabinet rests on the jack, remove the front part of the wooden pallet.

  22. Remove the wooden blocks (marked (C) in the illustration) from under the cabinet. Use a drilling machine or a wrench to turn the jack to lower the cabinet until the front casters have contact with the floor. Turn the jack until it can be removed from the long transportation bracket.
    NOTE: Reduce the drill torque to the minimum to prevent kickback.

  23. Remove the eight M8x30 screws, the long transportation bracket (0M-94887), the jack (870-67016), and the floor protection plate (870-67542) from the cabinet.

  24. Raise the rear leveling feet on the UPS with a wrench to their original position.

  25. Reinstall the eight M8x30 screws that were removed from the front of the cabinet during this procedure.

  26. Reinstall the front doors. Reconnect the display signal cable and the two LED strip signal cables to the cabinet. Store the manuals, the documentation, and the power module tool in the documentation compartment in the UPS door (marked (C) in the illustration).
  27. Close and lock the front doors.
  28. Move the UPS to the final location by rolling it over the floor on the casters.
    WARNING
    TIPPING hazard
    • The casters of the UPS are exclusively for transport on flat, even, hard, and horizontal surfaces.
    • The casters of the UPS are intended for transport over short distances (i.e. inside the same building).
    • Move at a slow pace and pay close attention on the floor conditions and the balance of the UPS.
    Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or equipment damage.
  29. Cover the UPS with the packaging bag (marked (A) in the illustration) until time of installation. The packaging bag was removed in step 2.
