Fiber Trace Report
The Fiber Trace report displays the results of a Fiber Trace, OTDR Trace, or Circuit Trace within a web browser. The format of the report varies according to trace type.
Fiber Trace
The highlighted row on the report indicates the trace origin. If you use directional tracing, the highlighted row appears at the top of the report. If you do not use directional tracing, the highlighted row can appear anywhere in the report.
OTDR Trace
This report shows the results of an OTDR trace, including all fiber facilities the light passes through before the signal stops. In the following image, a glass length of 16,500 feet was entered. From the report, you can see the signal stops in the University BB82 cable > blue buffer tube > brown fiber strand. On the map, a symbol showing that exact location is also visible. This is helpful information to supply to field crew so they can locate the issue.
Circuit Trace
The circuit trace report shows splice points, fibers, and end devices that are part of the circuit. The circuit’s header row is highlighted in light blue.
