ArcGIS Server Configuration

  1. On your ArcGIS Server machine, open the folder called ExportToCAD.
It is important to install the ArcFMWeb_ExportTool.msi on the ArcGIS Server. Installing elsewhere can cause problems with access to a required directory.
NOTE: In the case that there are multiple ArcGIS Server machines, be sure to install on one that has access to the c:\arcgisserver\directorires\arcgisjobs directory. It is imperative that this is the same location you configure later in step 10 of Client Configuration. If your organization uses ArcGIS Web Adaptors, you may install it there.
  2. Execute ArcFMWeb_ExportTool.msi.
  3. At the Select Installation Address step, either use the default name or designate a new virtual directory name which is created on the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
This name is used in the valueBaseExportToCAD argument for the Export to CAD workflow in ArcFM Web. Make a note of this path, as it is required for step 10 of Client Configuration.
  4. Next, provide the Copy to CAD Path location.
You only need to change this value if ArcGIS Server has been installed somewhere other than the default location.
  5. Click Next.
  6. At the Product Features step, select Install.
  7. When prompted to allow the app to make changes to your computer, click Yes and Finish.
  8. After installation is complete, open the IIS Manager.
  9. Select Default Web Site, right click, and select Refresh.
  10. A new node appears matching the name that was designated during installation. Select the new node.
  11. Double click IIS Mime Types.
  12. Scroll down the list and ensure that the DWG and the DXF extensions appear in this list.
Seeing the DWG and DXF MIME types listed indicates a successful installation of Export to CAD.
