Design Guidelines

Good site selection is essential for proper installation and reliable operation of the equipment. The equipment must be installed on a flat, level surface. It is recommended to have the equipment installed by Schneider Electric Services. Ensure adequate bracing of bus components mounted to EvoPacT cradles.

Ensure adequate ventilation in breaker compartments and overall switchgear equipment. Not allowing proper ventilation may impact the thermal performance of the equipment. The in-take area for ventilation should be located in lower front as shown in the figure Provisions for ventilation. Also ensure adequate sizing and support for all OEM bus connected to the equipment.

For more instructions regarding site selection, preparation, foundation, installation, usage, start-up, and maintenance refer to Schneider Electric document NNZ9886800, SureSeT Medium Voltage, Metal-Clad, Indoor Switchgear User Guide.

DANGER
hazard of electric shock, explosion, or arc flash
  • Respect the boundary of the EvoPacT cradles for added switchgear parts. No parts are permitted within the envelope of the cradles.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.

Codes and Standards

The EvoPacT circuit breaker cradle, auxiliary cradle with devices, and semi-assembled switchgear are UL Recognized components.

Testing required for OEM

Testing of the components in the final OEM switchgear design is the responsibility of the OEM. Ratings of the equipment are dependent upon the completion of the assembly by the OEM. Suitability of any components added to the assembly by the OEM must be determined in the end application. The OEM is responsible for testing the final switchgear design to industrial standards they are specifying. The OEM should contact UL directly for the requirements if a UL certification is required for their equipment. Schneider Electric is not liable for any damages incurred by the equipment built by the OEM.

Standard fastener torque values

Use a torque wrench to tighten all general hardware and bolts for busbar connections in the EvoPacT components during installation and maintenance steps as specified in Torque Value, unless otherwise specified.

Torque Value

Grease information

CAUTION
inadequate lubrication
  • Do not use any other grease than the one specified in this instruction material.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in injury or equipment damage.

For all EvoPacT component areas requiring grease, use Mobilith SCH™ 100 grease (Schneider Electric part number HUA11872 ). Use this grease, if required, as instructed in the Schneider Electric document NNZ9886800, SureSeT Medium Voltage, Metal-Clad, Indoor Switchgear User Guide.
