Fiber Manager Reporting

Fiber Manager provides the ability to generate XML- or HTML-based reports that graphically display information about your fiber optic network. You can generate the following reports with Fiber Manager:

IMPORTANT: For all reports except the Cable Report, Fiber Manager supports Internet Explorer or Edge in Internet Explorer Compatibility Mode. To turn on the Compatibility Mode in Edge, follow these steps:
  1. In Edge, click the Settings and More ellipsis in the upper, right-hand corner.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Click Default Browser.

  4. Under Internet Explorer Compatibility, leave the “Let Internet Explorer open sites in Microsoft Edge” at the default setting of “Incompatible sites only (Recommended).”

  5. For “Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode,” choose “Allow.”

  6. For “Internet Explorer mode pages,” click the Add button and add the following entries. Adding these entries avoids the extra step of having to “Reload in Internet Explorer mode.” Be sure to edit the username in the URL to an appropriate value:

    1. file:///C:/Users/username/Documents/ArcFM%20Solution/Fiber%20Manager/Reports/Allocation_Report.xml

    2. file:///C:/Users/username/Documents/ArcFM%20Solution/Fiber%20Manager/Reports/Glass_Report.xml

IMPORTANT: The Patch Panel Connection, Splice, and Trace Reports are not added here because the URL contains information specific to the chosen splice and are therefore not generic URLs. These reports initially open on a blank tab. After this initial attempt to render the report, click the Settings and More ellipsis in the upper, right-hand corner, then choose “Reload in Internet Explorer mode.”

  • The Allocation Report allows you to graphically view all of the connected fibers within a fiber optic cable.

  • The Fiber Trace Report graphically displays the results of a Fiber, OTDR, or Circuit trace. The format of the reports vary by trace type.

  • The Glass Report displays an inventory of the fiber optic cables in your network.

  • The Patch Panel Connection Report creates a graphical diagram of the layout of a patch panel or series of patch panels within a patch location.

  • The Splice Report presents a display of every fiber connection within the selected splice point.

  • The Cable Report presents the wavelengths, circuits, and statuses of circuits on the selected cable. Unlike the other reports, this report opens in your default web browser, which could include Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.
