GPS tracking is
used to pan the map along with your movements by following your current
GPS location. The Center on my location

button,
in the bottom right corner of the map, turns green

when enabled.
If you manually
pan/zoom the map while this tool is enabled, the button becomes disabled
and won’t follow you until you re-enable it.
By default,
ArcFM Mobile determines your GPS location through Windows Location Services.
If your device is configured to prevent apps from accessing your location
through Windows Location Services, the Center on my location button
is greyed out. Follow these steps to activate the button:
-
Access location privacy settings, then change the Location
for this device to On.

-
Allow apps to access your location by toggling it on.

-
Scroll down and toggle on the setting for Maps.

If your
organization uses National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) devices
for GPS location instead of Windows Location Services, your
ArcFM Mobile administrator has configured the appropriate settings for you.
If, for some reason,
ArcFM Mobile is no longer receiving messages from a configured NMEA device,
you are notified and the app switches, if possible, to Windows Location
Services.
ArcFM Mobile continues to listen for messages coming from the NMEA device.
When messages are again received, the app switches back to the NMEA
device and notifies you as such.
Drive
To: sends the device’s current GPS location to a navigation
application on your device (either the default app or one programmed
by your administrator).
-
Right-click a spot in the map to open the clickwheel.
-
Select Drive to and the default app opens, finds your current
location, and provides directions to the designated location.

ArcFM Mobile determines your GPS location through Windows Location Services.
If your device is configured to prevent apps from accessing your location
through Windows Location Services, you can enable them by searching
for “location” from the Windows Start menu and opening
Location Privacy Settings. Ensure that apps are allowed to access
your location and that ArcFM Mobile has permission to do so as well. Depending on your environment,
your IT administrator may need to enable location services for you.
