Wavepoint XI Using Overview
Wavepoint XI delivers your fiber network data from a lightweight web-based application. Use it to locate, view, and trace features in your network, as well as inspect connectivity and network design.
One of the most helpful features of Wavepoint XI is the use of static URLs. When you navigate to a cable, splice, or patch location, that feature’s URL is static and remains the same in perpetuity. This means you can copy and paste that URL, share it with others at your company, and they are only one click away from navigating to the feature in question. This also opens up possibilities to include the URL in GIS maps, reports, work orders, and more. See Using Wavepoint Static URLs in Fiber Manager XI for more information.
The Layers menu lets you enable the desired map layers. This can make the map look less busy if you only want to see specific layers. If you search for a patch location, and you do not have the Communications Junction layer enabled, you can still find it, but the facility is not highlighted on the map.

If a layer you expected is not present, that means the layer was not included in the published map being used by the application. Speak to your GIS administrator to get the layer included and the map re-published.
