Upgrade Workflow Manager to 8.3.2

Use these upgrade instructions if you are:

  • Using a version of Workflow Manager older than 8.3.2

  • Upgrading to a version of Workflow Manager that is 8.3.2 or higher

  • Implementing the ArcFM Mobile Solution (if you don't intend to use Mobile, these steps are not necessary)

These instructions are intended for GIS administrators who currently are in production with Workflow Manager and who want to upgrade to the most recent release of the ArcFM Solution. This document does not apply if you are not currently using Workflow Manager and will be implementing it with the most recent version of the ArcFM Solution (i.e., you are new to ArcFM and are starting with the most recent release). If this is the case, refer to Set Up Workflow Manager.

If you are upgrading your Process Framework, you may also need to use the Process Framework Database Upgrade tool.

Upgrade to 8.3.2

With release 8.3.2, tools were added to Workflow Manager to support Mobile functionality. The following roles, states, transitions, and tasks are necessary only if you wish to use ArcFM Solution in the field.

You will need to create the following roles, states, transitions, and tasks using the Process Framework Administration Tool.

Roles

The following must appear in the Roles column exactly as they appear below. Any Role Name may be assigned.

  • WMS_ALWAYS_MOBILE_DESIGNER

  • WMS_MOBILE_DESIGNER

States

Add the following state to the States tab:

Design

Mobile

Indicates the design is ready for field editing. You can enter any description in this field.

Transitions

Add the following transitions on the Transitions tab. The value in the Transition field must appear exactly as shown below. You can enter any Transition Name and Description.

  • DemobilizeDesign

  • SendToField

Tasks

Add the following tasks on the Node Types tab. The Task Name must appear exactly as shown in bold below.

  • After Design Import

Node Type: Design

Assign Subtasks: (in order as shown)

  • Approve Imported Design

    • Re-send Design to Field

  • Import Mobile Design Features

Node Type: Design

Assign Subtasks: (in order as shown)

  • Is Mobile Solution enabled?

    • Is design locked?

    • Is design open?

    • Does user own work request or design node?

    • Import Mobile Features

  • Send Design to Current Field Owner

Node Type: Design

Transition: Send to Field

Assign Subtasks: (in order as shown)

  • Send to Field

  • Send to Field

Node Type: Design

Transition: Send to Field

Assign Subtasks: (in order as shown)

  • Does user own work request or design node?

    • Is design locked?

    • Is Mobile Solution enabled?

    • Change Design's Owner to Mobile User

    • Send to Field

  • Send/Receive Mobile Data

Node Type: All Work Request Filters (UserWorkRequests, UserStatusWorkRequests, AllWorkRequests, and any other custom filters)

Assign Subtasks: (in order as shown)

  • Is Mobile Solution enabled?

    • Mobile Synchronize

    • Update Enterprise

    • Mobile Synchronize
