Installing the Remote Mount Controller

To install the enclosure:

  1. Determine the appropriate location based on communication wiring distance limitations stated in Installing Powerlink NF3500G4 Controllers Installation Booklet (document number 63249-420-374), Table 7: Maximum Communication Cable Distances. Position the unit between 50 to 65 inches from the floor surface to the centerline of the control module.

  2. Remove the ¼-20 x 1.00 inch screws to remove the trim front from the enclosure (Removing the trim front). Retain the four screws for reuse.

  4. Using the four embosses and pre-drilled holes in the back of the enclosure as a guide (Mounting emboss locations and Mounting emboss spacing dimensions), install the enclosure.

    NOTE: Mounting hardware not included.

  5. Install conduit hubs that comply with the requirements in UL Standard 514B for outlet boxes and fittings. Approved locations are designated inside of the enclosure walls (See Conduit location identifiers and Left side wall conduit locations, and Right side wall, top and bottom end wall conduit locations). Any area between the X marks plus or minus 1.50 in. (38.1 mm) from the centerline of the X marks are acceptable locations. The top and bottom end walls, along with the right side wall have almost the entire area available for conduit (Right side wall, top and bottom end wall conduit locations). The left side wall has two small areas, one at the top, and one at the bottom available for conduit (Left side wall conduit locations). Pull Class 1 (Power Wiring) and Class 2 (Communications and input wiring) into the enclosure.

NOTE: Take care not to damage internal components during installation. Clear all metal filings with vacuum before installing conduit hubs.
