Asset Categories
An asset category is the container for a specific group of assets within a specific class. It lets you set parameters, maintenance, and layouts that are specific to that group. A container makes it easy to differentiate the factors and maintenance between low voltage concrete poles and low voltage wood poles.
The Asset Categories tab is the main configuration section to:
-
Set up widgets to display asset data visually with different kinds of graphs, charts, and tables.
-
Use rule engines as a part of the complex tasks configured in calculation workflows.
-
Establish maintenance and replacement costs with interventions.
-
Add specific environmental factors, such as location and reliability, to the category.
-
Create maintenance recommendation dialog boxes to acknowledge when an alarm is triggered.
The name, type class, and calculation type are seen in the asset category list. To see properties or configure an asset category, click the ellipsis and select Edit. You can only edit the Interventions tab for items with the CNAIM calculation as the rest of the settings are hard-coded by default.
