Considerations and Requirements

There are many moving parts in constant motion during a successful implementation of ArcFM XI series applications. The following are items to consider prior to implementation, plus several prerequisites/requirements that must be met:

Initial Considerations

  1. Have you reviewed the Introduction and Prerequisites topic in the Solution Center Implementation Guide?

  2. Are you familiarized with the Feeder Services XI Supported Versions article (available on myArcFM)?

  3. Have you reviewed the ArcFM Utility Network Configuration Guide?

  4. Do you have a Geodatabase Manager (GDBM) license?

  5. Does your organization have an SFTP server?

  6. Did you know that we provide an entire section on Cybersecurity Best Practices?

Prerequisites/ Requirements

  1. You must have a signed Online Service Agreement in place. Contact your Account Manager for more information. Additionally, as stated in the Introduction and Prerequisites topic, you need to request a tenant and briefly wait for it to be configured.

  2. It is crucial to be aware of the supported version and license level of all necessary applications that are outlined in Feeder Services XI Supported Versions.

  3. To ensure a smooth implementation of Feeder Services, your UN data model should adhere as closely as possible to configuration described in the ArcFM Utility Network Configuration Guide.

  4. You need one Geodatabase Manager (GDBM) license because Feeder Services consumes GDBM action handlers as a part of its Geodatabase Region Resource (GRR) creation/update scheduling procedure. The single GDBM license satisfies all Feeder Services needs. It is perfectly acceptable if your GRR maintenance schedule overlaps with other GDBM procedures running for other applications.

IMPORTANT: Licenses are managed at the tenant level. If you have multiple tenants, each tenant requires a GDBM license.

  5. Patch Integration with ADMS requires an SFTP server that can be monitored by the ADMS File Monitoring Service.

  6. Given the volatility and sheer number of cyberattacks recently, within the ArcFM XI Series Architecture and Knowledge Base, we created a comprehensive section regarding Cybersecurity Best Practices, as they relate to Esri products and ArcFM XI applications.
