Load Connection IR Windows

An an option, windows can be provided for viewing field-connected load terminations at each feeder breaker in the lineup via Infrared (IR) camera. Main Breaker Line side connections are not included due to Service Entrance barriers blocking line of sight for scanning. Windows are provided on cable compartment doors/covers based on feeder breaker placement.

The infrared inspection window enables permanent access for inspection of electrical components without disturbing operations. Specially developed for infrared inspections, the window is made of a glass-like material that is transparent to infrared rays and allows hot spots to be registered by a thermographic camera.

IRISS Brand VPT is used for NEMA Type 1 enclosures. Square D Brand H.VIR is used for NEMA Type 3R and Arc Resistant enclosures.

In some cases 1 or 2 windows may be installed on each section:

1. The top window allows for viewing load connections for breakers in either or both of the top two (A & B) cell locations.

2. The bottom window allows for viewing load connections for breakers in either or both of the bottom two (C & D) cell locations.

All IR Window selectable applications are UL/CUL Listed for PZ4

Offer Restrictions

• Not available on 54” deep enclosures since windows are too close to the lug pads to get a good viewing angle on all connections with an IR camera.

• Not available for Sprinkler Resistant or Indoor Water Resistant due to large vents on rear doors preventing window placement

• Not available with Filtered Vent Openings.
