Components
The Components tab allows you to add, edit, and remove network components.
To begin, use the drop-down to choose your component type.
Existing Components
Click an existing component to view its attributes. You can also utilize the filter to find the appropriate component. The default filter field searches both Manufacturer and Model Number, and the Advanced drop-down provides additional filter attributes.
After locating the component, you can perform the following actions:
-
Edit: Make changes to the component fields, then click Save.
IMPORTANT:-
If you change a field to a different value, the Validate & Save button becomes active. If you change that same field back to its original value, the Validate & Save field becomes inactive. This is because the application recognizes the field has returned to its original value, and there is no reason to save or validate.
-
If you edit a component that already belongs to a grouping, the changes do not automatically get updated at the grouping level. You must visit that grouping, and remove the components and then re-add them for the changes to take effect in the grouping. For example, let’s say you update an amplifier’s forward input from 870 MHz to 1000 MHz. The grouping does not know about that change until you remove the amplifier and then re-add it. At that point, you see the updated attribute at the grouping level.

Copy: This copies the current component and then awaits edits. This is a helpful tool to create a new component that is similar to an existing one. After you click Copy, the application appends the word “(copy)” to the Model Number. Then, make edits as needed and Save. If you do not make edits and Save, the copied component is discarded.
-
Delete: This deletes the current component. After you click Delete, click Yes to confirm or No to stop the delete process. If you click Yes, there is no undo for deleting a component.
New Components
Click the Add New icon to get started.
The Identification and Properties fields vary by component type. Descriptions of these fields are found in the subsequent component topics.
