Welcome to the ArcCatalog Tools Configuration Guide.

Here are some tips to help you find relevant information fast:

  • Topics are organized thematically in the Table of Contents along the left-hand side. Expand topics to reveal subtopics.

  • Use the Search field to type keywords you’re looking for. The Search queries the entire catalog of guides, and further, it allows you to filter by product, guide type, and version. Enter your search terms to get started.

  • While reading a topic, press the down key to scroll down through the topic, press the right key to move to the next topic in the Table of Contents, and press the left key to move to the previous topic in the Table of Contents.

  • Want to send a topic to a co-worker? Click the Sharable Link tool. This copies the current topic’s URL straight to your clipboard, ready for you to paste into an email or other message.

  • Is the image a little too small? Click it to open in a separate tab. It opens as large as possible.

  1. When I look at ArcFM System Tables in ArcCatalog, why do some tables have the word “system” in their names, and some do not?

    1. The ArcFM System Tables that have the word “system” in their names store settings and configurations that apply to all users. In other words, they store “system-wide” settings. The ArcFM System Tables that do not have the word “system” in their names store user-specific settings and configurations. For example, the table MM_SYSTEM_STORED_DISPLAYS contains the Stored Displays available to all users. These are typically created by an administrator. The table MM_STORED_DISPLAYS contains the Stored Displays created by individual users. These are only available to the user that created them (not system wide). All companies have system-wide Stored Displays, and some companies choose to allow their users to create their own Stored Displays or choose to block user Stored Displays.

  2. I know I can find my product version by either clicking About ArcFM Solution or going to Help > About ArcFM Solution. But, how can I find out my current database version?

    1. In the Catalog Tree, right-click the database and choose ArcFM Database Version. You can also add this tool to any toolbar by clicking the Customize Menu > Customize Mode).
