Pairing the device with the Wiser Hub

Pair your PowerTag Control with the Wiser Hub to access and control it using the Wiser Home app.
IMPORTANT: Make sure that the PowerTag Control has been installed by a qualified professional.
  1. On the Home screen, tap .
  2. Tap Devices > > Energy.
  3. Select PowerTag Control and then tap Next (A) on setup page.
TIP: You can also navigate by tapping Control > > Energy > PowerTag Control.
    NOTE:
    • Make sure your PowerTag Control is powered and blinking amber before proceeding.

    • During pairing process, if the PowerTag Control LED is slowly blinking red (every 5 s), wait for 4 min until the LED blinks red several times a second. Then press the setup button for > 10 s to reset the device. When the LED is blinking amber, retry the device pairing.

  4. Select an option to pair the device:
    • Scan QR code: you can scan QR Code on the device for the install code.
    • I can't find the correct QR code: you can manually enter the MAC Address and Install Code of the device if you are not able to scan the QR code.
IMPORTANT: It is highly recommended to pair the device with MAC Address and Install Code.
  5. Tap Scan QR code and allow the Wiser Home app to access your camera. Then, scan the QR Code located on the device.
NOTE: If the QR code is incorrect, a message Incorrect QR code scanned will appear, then tap I can't find the correct QR code and manually enter MAC Address and Install Code and then tap Connect.
If the MAC Address and Install Code are not visible, you can pair the device by tapping Skip and setup manually.
The Wiser Home app verifies as Confirmed if the MAC Address and Install Code are valid.
  6. Wait a few minutes for the PowerTag Control to be discovered and to join the Wiser system.
You can check the progress in the app.
Upon successful pairing status LED turns green.
  7. After joining, read the pop-up message and tap OK.
  8. In configuration page, tap Identify (B) to identify the PowerTag Control before configuring.
IMPORTANT: It is recommended to perform device identification to make sure you are configuring the correct PowerTag Control device.
A notification window is prompted and the status LED flashes fast in green on the PowerTag Control. Tap OK on the notification window when you have finished identifying the PowerTag Control.
  9. Tap Type (C) and select the label that represents your PowerTag Control and tap Save.
TIP: You can also select Custom option at the end of list and select a custom label.
  10. Tap Name (D) to enter the name according to your preference.
  11. Tap Next and assign the device to a new room or an existing room and tap Submit.
IMPORTANT: The next screen shows the Device Settings page, where you have the option to configure the settings during the pairing process or at a later time. If you prefer to configure it later, tap Submit. For more information on device settings, refer to Configuring the device section.
  12. Tap Output type (E) and select one for the following electrical output from the drop down menu (F) and tap Done.
    • Contactor: to control electric motors, lighting, heating, capacitor banks, thermal evaporators, pumps, hot water systems, and other electrical loads which are typically used in applications where frequent make-and-break operations are required. Follow Step 10.
    • Impulse Relay: to switch when an electrical pulse is applied to its coil. Used in applications where a momentary electrical signal is used to control a circuit. Follow Step 11.
  13. For Contactor output type:
    1. Tap Normal Condition (G) and select one for the following states of the contact option from the drop down menu (H) and tap Done.
These states determine how the contactor behaves when power is applied or removed. The choice between Normally Open and Normally Close contactors depends on the specific control or protection requirements of the electrical circuit.

Normally Open: the contacts are opened when the coil is not energized, and they close when the coil is energized.

Normally Close: the contacts are closed when the coil is not energized, and they open when the coil is energized.

    2. Tap Next to setup page, select the room which PowerTag Control controls and then tap Submit to complete pairing process.
NOTE: Energy Centre room is created by the system and it is pre selected by default. If you choose an other room, Energy Centre will not be added to the system.
  14. For Impulse Relay output type:
NOTE: Check if the Feedback Loop is wired and Impulse Relay is on Auto.

The impulse relay contains a latched technology relay with a resting state that can be either open or closed. Unlike a contactor, which features a monostable technology and a defined resting state.

    1. Tap Feedback Type (I) and select one for the following feedback loop from the drop down menu (J) and tap Done.
These feedback types are important for understanding how the relay communicates its state to other components or systems in a larger control or monitoring setup.

Normally Open: the relay's contacts are open in their resting state. When the relay is energized, these contacts close to indicate the active state.

Normally Close: the relay's contacts are closed in their resting state. When the relay is energized, these contacts open to indicate the active state.

    2. Tap Next to setup page, select the room which PowerTag Control controls and then tap Next.
NOTE: Energy Centre room is created by the system and it’s pre selected by default. If you choose an other room, Energy Centre will not be added to the system.
    3. After selecting the room you can test the impulse relay feedback to check everything is working correctly by turning on the toggle switch (K) for Impulse Relay and wait for few minutes for the test to complete.
The App shows the progress of the test.

NOTE: If the impulse test is not successful refer instruction sheet for wiring connection.
    4. Tap Done to complete the pairing process.
Upon successful completion of the pairing process PowerTag Control will appear on the Control page.
NOTE: If you only have single PowerTag in the Wiser System, the Control page will not be visible. All functions will be accessible through the Home screen.
