Locking of a Circuit Breaker with a Toggle Handle

Locking Options for the Toggle Handle

DANGER
HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION, OR ARC FLASH
When the circuit breaker handle is locked in the O (OFF) position, always use a properly rated voltage sensing device to confirm power is off before working on equipment.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.
NOTE: Locking the handle in the I (ON) position does not disable the circuit breaker. If an electrical fault is detected, the circuit breaker trips. When the handle is unlocked, it moves to the tripped position. To return the circuit breaker to service, reset the circuit breaker (see Resetting with the Toggle Handle After a Trip).
