Cable Report

The Cable Report displays high-level information about a selected cable, including available and defective fiber counts. Further, it displays detailed information about all circuits that pass through the selected cable. As an administrator, there is one portion of the report you can configure: the wavelength display.

Wavelength Domain

Often, circuits are along specific wavelengths. Users can either type the wavelengths, or we recommend assigning the wavelength field a domain of possible values. Whichever configuration you choose, the wavelength field in the F_Circuit table must be assigned the FIBERLAMBDA field model name in order to appear on the Cable Report. If you are following the standard data model, this is already assigned.

If you choose to assign a domain to the wavelength field, the domain Description appears on the Cable Report. For example, if you manage your wavelengths with channels, you can type the channel names in the domain Description:

In this configuration, the channel names appear on the Cable Report.

If you prefer to show the actual wavelengths, type them in the domain Description:

And, the wavelengths appear on the Cable Report.

As seen in the images above, if no wavelength is recorded for a circuit, the report displays a dash regardless of whether or not you assign a domain.
