Tile Packages

Tile packages are sets of tiles (images) pieced together to create a basemap. Vector tile packages by definition are smaller in size, faster for you to generate, and faster for your users to download.

But first! In ArcFM you need to create a traditional tile package (TPK), or in ArcGIS Pro you need to create a vector tile package (VTPK). Then use Solution Center to upload the tile package. Refer to the Mobile Configuration guide for more information. You can also refer to Esri’s ArcGIS documentation for details on creating VTPKs.

TIP: We strongly suggest that you create all TPKs in the spatial reference of your choice. TPKs do not behave properly if the spatial reference is different than what is used in the map.

The Tile Packages tab in Solution Center shows you all existing packages. Each tile package in the list has a Display Name and Size.

  1. Click the Add button and provide an appropriate Display Name.

  2. Click Choose File and browse to the file that you saved locally when you were working in ArcFM. Click Upload.
  3. Upon upload, the tile package displays in the left scrollable frame, and when you click on it, you can view the total package size or delete it entirely.

Once your tile package has been uploaded, next you need to add it to an offline package to make it available for download to ArcFM Mobile users.
