Mechanical Interlocking for Transfer Switches
Description
The mechanical interlocking for transfer switches between MasterPacT MTZ circuit breakers prevents the interlocked circuit breakers from closing at the same time. The following interlocking functions are available:

Interlocking between two circuit breakers

Interlocking between three circuit breakers:

Three incomers
-
Two incomers and one coupling

Two incomers and one replacement

VBP Pushbutton Locking Accessory
The VBP pushbutton locking accessory provides redundancy in addition to the mechanical interlocking system.
The use of the pushbutton locking cover is mandatory on each interlocked MasterPacT MTZ circuit breaker. The closing pushbuttons of the interlocked circuit breakers must be locked by padlocks sharing one key to help avoid simultaneous closing orders of interlocked circuit breakers.

Mechanical Interlocking Between Three Incomers
Mechanical interlocking is between three main circuit breakers connected to different power sources.
Only one of the three circuit breakers can be in the closed position at a time. The other two circuit breakers are held in the locked open position.

Mechanical Interlocking Between Two Incomers and One Coupling
Mechanical interlocking is between two main circuit breakers connected to different power sources and one tie circuit breaker.
Two of the three circuit breakers can be in the closed position at any time.

Mechanical Interlocking Between Two Incomers and One Replacement
Mechanical interlocking is between two main circuit breakers connected to the same power source and a third circuit breaker connected to a generator power source.
The generator circuit breaker is locked open when either or both of the main circuit breakers are closed.

IVE Electrical Interlocking Unit
Electrical interlocking between MasterPacT MTZ circuit breakers can be done using the IVE electrical interlocking unit or by using dedicated wiring. The IVE unit is suitable for two circuit breakers only. For three circuit breakers, dedicated wiring is required to perform the electrical interlocking.
