Extension Licensing
ArcFM allows you to check out licenses for ArcFM extensions in ArcMap. It is no longer necessary to close ArcMap, open the ArcFM Desktop Administrator, then re-open ArcMap. This functionality allows you to check out a license on-the-fly.
IMPORTANT: Before
turning on an extension, it needs to be installed as part of the ArcFM
Solution installer. Scroll to the bottom of the Setup dialog when
installing ArcFM Solution and locate Extensions. Expand the Extensions
section to see the three extensions available to install; Conduit
Manager, Network Adapter, and Redliner. Click the arrow next to each
extension you want to select it for installation. Then continue with
the install as normal.

In ArcMap, select Customize > Extensions.
TIP: Users will not need to check out an extension license for Network Adapter-DMS. -
Select the checkbox next to the license you want to use.
If the license is not available (i.e., all licenses are in use or
licenses were not purchased), then the extension license is labeled
with: "License not available."
- Click Close to dismiss the Extensions window.
