Apply a View Filter

View Filters help users focus on network features of interest by hiding those that do not meet specified criteria. For example, a filter might hide structural elements to make energized components more readily apparent. Or a filter could display only elements associated with a single feeder. ArcFM Mobile presents users with predefined View Filters that administrators have configured in ArcFM Solution Center.

Available View Filters are accessed by clicking or tapping the funnel icon.

To deliver consistently fast performance, ArcFM Mobile supports View Filters only in offline mode with downloaded data (preferred) or in online mode with locally rendered data. Opening the View Filters pane in online mode without local rendering yields a message that filtering is unavailable.

IMPORTANT: If you need to filter the map using online data instead of offline data, ask your administrator to enable local rendering in ArcFM Solution Center.

Switching to offline mode restricts the operational map display to features that have been downloaded for offline use. Once offline, clicking or tapping the funnel icon displays a list of available View Filters. In this example, one filter called FeederID has been defined.

Entering a value in the filter box restricts the displayed features to those matching the filter criteria. In this example, only those features with a Feeder ID of 541 are shown on the map.

You may include more than one filter criterion, separated by commas. In this example, the map displays features with a Feeder ID of 541 or 542.

Normal Search and Identification tools remain available to the user when a View Filter has been applied. In this example, the user applies a lasso tool to identify features.

Because the View Filter has been applied, the features identified here all have a Feeder ID of 541 or 542.

TIP: If a View Filter has been a applied when you perform a search or identify, ArcFM Mobile only returns features that have not been filtered out.
