Download Offline Packages

Downloading offline packages and having them readily available are the keys to getting the most out of ArcFM Mobile. Offline packages are designed by your system administrator and can be set up to contain different pieces of information, for example:

  • Just gas data

  • Just electric data

  • Both electric and gas data

  • Gas data for a particular region

  • Electric data for a particular region

  • Both electric and gas data for a particular region, etc.

If your administrator has configured your organization to use only offline data, you might see the following dialogue the first time you launch the app after installing:

Tap the link to download an offline package.

Download Packages

Publishes in WPF and Xam {Windows and iPad}
  1. WPF
Click the Settings button on the left, then click Packages.
  2. WPF
In the list that displays on the Available tab, locate the package you want to download and click the Download button.
    IMPORTANT:
    • Prior to download, Size can be described as the entire size of the package to be downloaded, including all replicas, their unconsolidated deltas, and tile packages.

    • The Most Recent Update field displays the date when the contents of an offline package were last updated.

    • An empty field by Downloaded indicates that it is not on your device.

    • As the package downloads, the Download icon changes to a progress circle.

TIP: If any package you want to download is larger than 100 MB, you are prompted to confirm that you wish to continue.

      • Click Yes to indicate that you acknowledge responsibility for potential data plan charges.

      • If the download fails, the error is shown under the package name.

      • We do not recommend attempting to simultaneously download multiple large (3 GB+) offline packages. This could cause a strain on your device and network, and potentially cause the downloads to fail.

  3. WPF
On the Downloaded tab, you can watch the value increase as the entire package downloads.
IMPORTANT: After download, Size can be considered the entire size of the package on your device (aka the amount of hard drive space the data is occupying). The size might be different once deltas are applied to the replica.

  4. After download, Size on Device can be considered the entire size of the package on your device (aka the amount of ‘hard drive’ space the data is occupying). The size might be different once deltas are applied to the replica.

  5. WPF
If you need to later delete the package, click the Remove button.
  6. WPF
Click the Refresh button to manually refresh the list.
    IMPORTANT:

If your system administrator makes changes to a package that you already have downloaded, the app reacts automatically in the following ways:

    • If additions were made, and the total amount of new data to download is less than 100 MB, then the app automatically downloads the data.

    • If the additions amount to over 100 MB of data to download, the app prompts you to download them manually.

    • If deltas are created for a replica, those deltas are downloaded and applied automatically if they do not exceed 100 MB
