Tracing

Tracing allows field crews to identify the parts of an electric or gas system that would be affected if a part of that system needed to be isolated. The benefits of tracing include the ability to visualize network flow with electric and gas traces while in the field; to identify upstream and downstream devices; and to quickly identify devices to isolate areas of the network.

Tracing can be performed with a mouse, stylus, or finger, and all actions are performed in a similar manner. Throughout this guide, our instructions specify a click action, but a tap action can be performed, if preferred.

Tracing can be performed on both electric and gas data.

IMPORTANT: Tracing takes place only on downloaded data, so be certain you've downloaded all the data on which you want to trace.
