Barriers

Barriers can be used to mimic real-world behavior, such as a cut, and placing barriers allows you to view the potential repercussions of stopping a trace where you place the barrier.
  1. Tap Barriers, then tap on the line, and a red X is placed on the line.

  2. Tap Re-Trace. You are shown the upstream path, but rather than the first upstream protective device stopping the trace, the barrier stops the trace. The Affected Customers list and the Transformers list are updated in the left pane.
TIP: After placing barriers, the Upstream Devices list and the Open Tie Devices list are not altered.
  3. To isolate a trace area a bit further, you can place a barrier further downstream, then tap Re-Trace. This stops the trace from extending past the barrier.

TIP:
  • Place as many barriers as you need.

  • Remove an individual barrier by tapping it, or use the Remove All Barriers button to remove all the barriers that you placed.

  • Tap Re-Trace to update the map view based on placing/removing barriers.
