Electric Tracing

To illustrate the use of electric tracing, we are going to perform a trace on a primary conductor.

  1. After selecting the desired Operational Map, zoom/pan to the area of interest.
  2. Tap the Trace button at the bottom right of the app to enable it, at which point it turns green, , then tap the desired location in the map. A blue circle appears where you tapped.

  3. The results are displayed both in the map and in the Trace pane, which opens automatically if it isn’t already open. Color-coding is based on phasing. The initial view zooms to encompass the entirety of the downstream trace, and the upstream trace to the first protective device. You can zoom as needed to see the full trace.
  4. Tap the Clear button in the top right corner of the Trace pane to clear out the results of the current trace.
IMPORTANT: If your organization has configured custom tools for tracing, a Tasks button provides additional actions that differ based on what is configured for the identified results.
