Logs Tab

All GDBM XI activity logs for scheduled events are maintained on the Logs tab. Reconcile Logs, Post Logs, and Posting Queue are all visible on this tab. Click on any of the log names to display the list of logs for that event type. Click the Refresh button to update the list at any time. Logs are visible for 90 days in the Logs tab. Diagnostics are also visible from the Logs tab. See the Diagnostics topic for additional information about how to view details about the logs.

Take it for a drive! )

(That link opens/switches to the Solution Center app and accesses the Logs tab in Geodatabase Manager XI.

The lists for Reconcile Logs and Post Logs each display past scheduled events. The lists display logs from the current day. To view logs from prior days, click the More button. This adds one more day worth of logs each time you click the button. The number of days you are viewing and the total number of items in the list are indicated to the left of the More button. To return your display back to the original display of the last one day, click the Refresh button.

The lists show the version name of the event, the session name, the date and time the event ran, as well as indications that it was successfully run and any version conflicts that might have arisen. If there are any version conflicts, the Conflict displays True. If there were no conflicts, it displays False.

If an event both failed to run and had conflicts, a notice is displayed in red text for easier identification.

TIP: The View Diagnostics button on a reconcile or post event switches you to the Diagnostics tab, and queries for events a few minutes before and after that event. This can help determine the cause of the failure.

Conflicts occur when:

  • The same feature is updated in both the currently edited version and the target version.

  • The same feature is updated in one version and deleted in the other version.

  • A topologically related feature or relationship class is modified in the currently edited version and the target version.

The Post Logs tab provides the option to resubmit a failed version to the posting queue. When a failed version is removed from the posting queue, the Resubmit button appears next to the View Diagnostics button. Click the Resubmit button to add the version back to the queue. A message displays to indicate that the version was added to the queue, or that it already exists in the queue. The Resubmit button disappears once the version is successfully added back to the queue. If the button is not present, then the version has already been added back to the queue. If there was an exception adding the version back to the posting queue, the button continues to display in the Post Log.

The Posting Queue tab displays each version previously run, the date and time the event ran, who requested it, and its priority number.

On occasion, you might see a peek lock icon next to a version name in the Posting Queue tab. This indicates the version is locked. Versions are locked to prevent two different orchestrations trying to post the version while they run in parallel. Hover your cursor over the icon to display the date and time the version was locked.

If you see this icon displayed for longer than the usual time (for example, if you see it for several hours or days), you should contact Schneider Electric Support for assistance removing the lock. If the peek lock displays for that long, it’s likely there was a problem when GDBM XI attempted to process the version that our Support team should investigate for you.
