Mounting the PowerLogic P3 Protection Relay

The PowerLogic P3 protection relay case can be mounted in two different positions according to the space available in the equipment. Both options are described in the following procedures:

Option 1: PowerLogic P3 protection relay is completely inserted into the front panel of the compartment

Option 2: PowerLogic P3 protection relay is partially inserted into the front panel of the compartment

  1. Compartment front panel

  2. PowerLogic P3 protection relay mounting case

Both assembly options are described in the following steps:

  1. To assemble the mounting case, screw the frame (B) on the box (A) using the screwdriver and 6 screws supplied with the kit (ref.: TFSC MA Z XREC M3x8 mm STL).

Option 1: PowerLogic P3 protection relay is completely inserted into the front panel of the compartment

Option 2: PowerLogic P3 protection relay is partially inserted into the front panel of the compartment

    1. Box

    2. Frame

  2. Remove the PowerLogic P3 connectors at the rear of the protection relay.
  3. Stick the mask at the rear of the PowerLogic P3 protection relay. The mask indicates the rear terminals with the original Sepam names.

  4. Install all the connectors.
  5. Insert the PowerLogic P3 protection relay (A) into the mounting case (B). Fix it from the rear using a nut socket longer than 130 mm to be able to screw the four nuts.

Option 1: PowerLogic P3 protection relay is completely inserted into the front panel of the compartment

Option 2: PowerLogic P3 protection relay is partially inserted into the front panel of the compartment

  6. This step only concerns the option 2 when PowerLogic P3 protection relay is partially inserted into the front panel of the compartment. In this case, two lateral squares have to be assembled with 4 screws (ref.: TFSC MA Z XREC M3x8 mm STL) supplied with the kit.

Option 2: PowerLogic P3 protection relay is partially inserted into the front panel of the compartment

  7. Insert the PowerLogic P3 protection relay assembly into the previous Sepam location in the compartment.

Option 1: PowerLogic P3 protection relay is completely inserted into the front panel of the compartment

Option 2: PowerLogic P3 protection relay is partially inserted into the front panel of the compartment

  8. For option 2 only, cover the unused holes for blockers with the adhesive bands provided with the wiring mask. Cover the holes on the top and the bottom.

Option 2: PowerLogic P3 protection relay is partially inserted into the front panel of the compartment

  9. Fix the PowerLogic P3 protection relay assembly using two blockers on the top and on the bottom of the protection relay assembly.
NOTE: The blocker can be used for a panel with one of the following thickness ranges:
    • 1.5...4 mm (0.06...0.16 in)

    • 4...6 mm (0.16...0.24 in)

When inserting the blocker, select the blocker printed side with the corresponding thickness range.

    1. At the top and bottom, insert (1) the blocker in the slot corresponding to the option 1 or 2: in (A) for option 1, and in (B) for option 2.
Then, press to lock the blocker (2).

Option 1: PowerLogic P3 protection relay is completely inserted into the front panel of the compartment

Option 2: PowerLogic P3 protection relay is partially inserted into the front panel of the compartment
