COM breakout cable wiring

If you are not including an I/O Expander in your installation, connect the COM breakout cable to the meter cable that has a 24-pin Molex connector.

Terminate the connectors or wires as shown below.

1 Refer to the section, “RS-232 connections” for additional information on RS-232 connections.
2 For RS-485 communications, use an Ethernet to RS-485 or RS-232 to RS-485 converter. Refer to the communications converter documentation for details.
3 IRIG-B cannot be configured via the meter’s front panel. See the IRIG-B GPS time synchronization technical note for configuration procedures.
NOTE: If the Ethernet or modem connector is covered with a cap, that communications option is not available on your meter. Label or tag the cable end to clearly indicate that the option is not available.
