Step 3: Mount the meter

Disconnect and lock out power. Use a properly rated voltage sensing device to confirm that power is off.

Feed the meter’s I/O and communications wiring, and ground wire (if applicable, see “Grounding method 2: Using the meter ground lug”) through the socket base opening, providing enough slack on the wiring to allow for future maintenance.

NOTE: Depending on the socket style, you may need to loosen the socket bolts in order to feed the cables through.

Firmly push the meter into the socket base, taking care not to crush or pinch any wires.

If required, attach an anti-tamper seal through the outer cover and the meter.

If required, attach the socket sealing ring and seal the Demand Reset switch.
