Locking the Safety Shutters

Description

The safety shutters can be locked in closed position so that the moving part of a MasterPacT MTZ2/MTZ3 device cannot be connected in its chassis.

The safety shutters can be locked by padlocks with maximum shackle diameter 5–8 mm:

  • Either inside the chassis by using the shutter locking blocks delivered in the chassis

  • Or on the front of the chassis by using the optional VIVC shutter position indication and locking accessory

The top and bottom safety shutters on MasterPacT MTZ2 devices can be locked independently or together.

The top and bottom safety shutters on MasterPacT MTZ3 devices can be locked together.

VIVC Shutter Position Indication and Locking Accessory

Use the shutter position indication and locking accessory to perform the following functions:

  • Indicate the position of each safety shutter: open or closed.

  • Padlock either or both of the MasterPacT MTZ2 safety shutters in closed position with the moving part in test or disconnected position.

  • Padlock all MasterPacT MTZ3 safety shutters in closed position with the moving part in test or disconnected position.

For information on the accessory installation, consult the instruction sheet on the Schneider Electric website: NVE35478.

Shutter Locking Blocks

The shutter locking blocks allow the locking of the safety shutters inside the chassis. Shutter locking blocks are delivered with each chassis as standard, and can be stored in the chassis:

  • Two shutter locking blocks on a MasterPacT MTZ2

  • Three or four shutter locking blocks on a MasterPacT MTZ3
