Network Category Descriptions

S:Duct Bank

Used to identify and create line features that represent duct banks. Conduit Manager expects exactly one Asset Group / Asset Type combination to be assigned to this category.

S:Duct Flag Leader Line

Used to identify and create line features that visually join a Duct Flag (enlarged duct cross section diagram in the map) to the DuctBank line to which the duct flag refers. Conduit Manager expects exactly one Asset Group / Asset Type combination to be assigned to this category.

S:Duct Flag Direction Line

Used to identify and create line features that indicate the viewing direction for a duct flag (enlarged duct cross section diagram in the map) along the Duct Bank line to which the duct flag refers. Conduit Manager expects exactly one Asset Group / Asset Type combination to be assigned to this category.

S:Duct End

Used to identify and create junction features that represent the 3D position of a duct opening upon the wall of a vault or manhole structure. Conduit Manager expects exactly one Asset Group / Asset Type combination to be assigned to this category.

S:Duct Bank End

Used to identify and create junction features that sit at the end of a DuctBank line feature. DuctBankEnd features have 3D-point geometry that lies in the plane of a wall (or ceiling or floor) of a vault or manhole structure. All of the DuctBankEnd features on the walls of a vault or manhole are connected to the Duct Bank Hub feature of the vault or manhole, via a junction-junction connectivity association. Conduit Manager expects exactly one Asset Group / Asset Type combination to be assigned to this category.

S:Duct Bank Hub

Used to identify and create the junction feature that serves to connect together all of the DuctBankEnd features belonging to a vault or manhole. The Duct Bank Hub does not represent any actual underground equipment, but is needed to support connectivity in the structure network to support Conduit Manager functions, like the Available Duct Trace, that traverse that network. Conduit Manager expects exactly one Asset Group / Asset Type combination to be assigned to this category.

S:Vault

Used to identify polygon features that represent manholes or vaults, or generally any structure that represents a three-dimensional volume that has planar walls, ceiling and floor, where the walls, ceiling or floor may have duct openings. Conduit Manager expects one or more Asset Group / Asset Type combinations to be assigned to this category.

S:Duct End Flag

Used to identify and create polygon features that represent a large-scale cross sectional view of a single duct. Duct End Flag features are found within a DuctFlagOutline rectangle feature that provides an enlarged cross section diagram of the ducts within a duct bank, in the map. Conduit Manager expects exactly one Asset Group / Asset Type combination to be assigned to this category.

S:Duct Flag Outline

Used to identify and create the rectangular features that form the outline of a duct flag (enlarged duct cross section diagram in the map). Conduit Manager expects exactly one Asset Group / Asset Type combination to be assigned to this category.

E:Conduit Occupant - Nonspatial Conductor

Used to identify non-spatial conductor types that are eligible to be contained by a Duct in the Conduit Manager data model. Conduit Manager expects one or more Asset Group / Asset Type combinations to be assigned to this category.

E:Conductor Node

Used to identify and create nonspatial junctions that can be used to connect nonspatial conductors in ducts (i.e., electric edge objects in the E:Conduit Occupant — Nonspatial Conductor category) to spatial conductors so that the conductor path is continued outside of the duct.

E:Conduit Occupant - Spatial Conductor

Used to identify electric line feature types that are eligible to be contained by a Duct in the Conduit Manager data model. Conduit Manager expects exactly zero or more Asset Group / Asset Type combinations to be assigned to this category.

TIP: Putting spatial conductor features inside of Ducts is generally discouraged since many line features in close proximity can make it difficult to interpret the map.
