Map Layer Requirements

There are some map layer requirements for your map to work properly. The items below outline those requirements.

Integrated Product Configurations

If you have an integrated Editor XI and Designer XI configuration, it is required that they share an operational map. This integration is visible within Solution Center. On the Mapping plugin, select the Operational Maps tab, then select your operational map in the left pane. In the right pane, in the Overview tab, you see your configured ArcFM XI products toggled on in green. If you have both Editor XI and Designer XI toggled on, you must share an operational map.

Using Layers From Different Operational Maps

IMPORTANT: Do not include layers in your map from different operational maps unless only one of those operational maps has branch versioning.

Subtype Group Layers

Subtype group layers are required in Editor XI in order for some functions to work properly. If there are feature classes in your map that are missing subtype group layers, the following error message appears in Esri’s notification doc pane:

Any layers listed in the notification are not included in a subtype group layer and need to be set up within one.
