Create Local Firewall Rule, Inbound Port 6443 to ArcGIS Server

Allow inbound port 6443 traffic to the ArcGIS Server

Before configuring server federation within Portal for ArcGIS, first you need to create a local firewall rule to allow inbound port 6443 traffic to the ArcGIS Server:

  1. Open Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security.
  2. Right-click Inbound Rules and select New Rule.
  3. For Rule Type, select Port.
  4. For Protocol and Ports, make the following selections:
    • For “Does this rule apply to TCP or UDP?”, select TCP.

    • For “Does this rule apply to all local ports or specific local ports?”, select Specific local ports and enter 6443 in the field.

  5. For Action, select Allow the connection.
  6. For Profile, select when the rule should apply. Typically Domain is selected as most utilities are connected to a corporate domain, but select Private if you’re setting this up for a home network.
  7. For Name, enter a descriptive name for the rule and, optionally, a description.
