Product Limitations
Information about ArcFM Product Limitations
-
ArcFM Designer XI only supports the design of distribution networks.
-
ArcFM Designer XI supports banks where each phase expected to pass through has a corresponding unit with that phase(s) set in the PhasesNormal attribute.
-
ArcFM Designer XI does not support viewing or modifying passthrough units. Passthrough units must be modified by a GIS editor after the design has been pushed.
-
ArcFM Designer XI requires the subnetwork controller to be first created in GIS using ArcGIS Pro, before starting the design. This limitation exists in the Geometric Network as well.
-
ADMS and ArcFM Designer XI have limited support for Utility Network (UN) Junction-to-Junction Connectivity.
-
ArcFM Designer XI does not support representing multiple conductors connected in parallel carrying the same phase or multiple neutral wires. One example is if the first line uses Phase A and a second line was added to compensate for an undersized conductor and also uses Phase A, ArcFM Designer XI can’t populate or display conductors with two phase A Conductor Info records.
-
The ArcFM UN will not place restrictions on electric junctions. When ArcFM Designer XI pushes a design to the UN, the product tries to select the correct electric junction feature type using UN connectivity rules. You can use an Autoupdater for this functionality. See the OOTB Autoupdaters topic for more information. If more than one electric junction can be used by evaluating the UN connectivity rules, an error will be returned to the designer. If the UN connectivity rules cannot be applied, an UNKNOWN Electric Junction will be added.
- ArcFM Designer XI currently supports only Symmetric Units. In the pull from the UN to ArcFM Designer XI and Feeder Services, all units will match.
-
An Editor must place any poles in ArcFM Editor XI or ArcFM Designer XI that do not have a switch or a junction point.
-
UN phase propagation will not properly propagate the phase from a two-phase MV Conductor to three-phase LV Conductor
-
ArcFM Designer XI does not support an open delta transformer.
-
You must use the terminal configuration tool in ArcGIS Pro to configure connectivity on capacitor units.
-
ArcFM Designer XI would see this change as a replacement of equipment. When the design is pushed to the UN, it will be up to the editor to manually move this feature to the non-spatial object table and create the containment and connectivity associations.
-
Feeder Services currently push both devices (Locational and Functional) to ADMS. A customization must be requested during the project setup to determine which piece of equipment ends up in ADMS, the Functional network, or the Locational Equipment network.
-
Designer XI requires structural attachments to the electrical network for items like poles to be exported and viewable in the application.
