Create Non-Electric Incident

Available in ArcMap.

An operator can manually create an incident on a non-electric feature. These incidents can be placed on any feature that has the RXINCIDENTFEATURE model name assigned (see Configuring Responder online help). For example, if a customer calls and reports a broken light pole, the operator can create an incident on that specific pole.

In ArcMap, locate the feature location on the map.
Click the Create Non-Electric Incident button on the Responder toolbar.

The cursor becomes a circle with a blue dot in the middle. The blue dot snaps to selectable non-network features. A layer must be set as selectable before this tool can snap to its features.
Click the faulty feature.

In the example below, an incident is created on the pole over which the cursor is placed. The blue dot snaps to the pole.

Responder Explorer must be open to manually create a fault in ArcMap.
The Create Non-Electric Incident window allows the operator to provide an outage time and an estimated restoration time.
The outage time must be the current time or earlier. Responder does not allow the user to provide a future outage time.
- Non-Outage: If you select Non-Outage as the incident Cause, the Actual Status field equals the value in the Expected Status field.
- Open Devices: If you place an incident on a device whose Expected Status is Open, the incident is automatically confirmed.
Provide values in the editable fields on the Create Incident window.

In addition to the outage time you can modify the region, weather, confirmation status, hazard, remarks, etc. All fields in white can be edited. The Dispatcher field filters display only the dispatchers that have access to the region in which the incident resides.
Click OK.

An incident is placed on the feature.

Note: The Feeder ID field is populated only when the location feature exists on a network feature. A location feature placed on a support structure would not display a Feeder ID value. In order to place a location feature on a network feature, the network feature must have the RXINCIDENTFEATURE model name assigned.
