Change Session Owner
As sessions travel through their process flow, they are periodically re-assigned to different owners based on their status. For example, when a session is submitted by an Editor, ownership of that session is transferred to the Approval Officer. The same is true when an Approval Officer rejects a session and assigns it to an Editor.
Session Manager provides the functionality to manually re-assign sessions to new owners without a change in status. This may be necessary if an Editor leaves for vacation before a session is finished and has another Editor complete it. The lucky vacationing Editor would change ownership of the session to the second, not-so-lucky Editor.
Session Manager adheres to the following rules when changing the session owner.
-
Only an Administrator or the current owner may change ownership.
-
The session may only be transferred to a user who has the role necessary to view it in its current state. For example, a session that has been submitted and is Pending Approval may be assigned to an Approval Officer, but not to an Editor. The Approval Officer has permissions to view Pending Approval sessions, while the Editor does not.
