Define Points and Lines
If you haven't already, determine your feature's geometry (Table 3 on the worksheet): point or line. If you have a line feature, create it as an ArcFM Complex Edge feature. If you have a point feature, create it as an ArcFM Simple Junction feature.
Point Feature Settings
Point features can have certain properties (e.g., splitting fiber lines) which use specific class model names, fields and autoupdaters. The following table describes the class model names, fields and autoupdaters used by point features.
Using the Settings for Point Features Table
-
The Example Field Name and Data Type columns contain values entered while creating the feature. If using the worksheet, record these values in Table 5.
-
The Field Model Name column contains values entered in the ArcFM Properties Manager on the Field Model Names tab. If using the worksheet, record these values in Table 5.
-
The Class Model Name column contains values entered in the ArcFM Properties Manager on the Model Names tab. If using the worksheet, record these values in Table 4.
-
The Object Autoupdaters row contains the object autoupdaters entered in the ArcFM Properties Manager on the Object Info tab. If using the worksheet, record these values in Table 6.

Line Feature Settings
Linear features can have certain properties, such as appearing in the glass report, which use specific class model names, fields and autoupdaters. The following table describes the class model names, fields and autoupdaters needed for line features with the following functions.
-
The Example Field Name, Data Type, and Domain columns contain values entered when creating the feature. If using the worksheet, record these values in Table 5.
-
The Assign Field Model Name column contains values entered in the ArcFM Properties Manager on the Field Model Names tab. If using the worksheet, record these values in Table 5.
