Create Connections
-
Create a Session or opening an existing Session.
-
On the Main Menu > Fiber tab, click Fiber Connections.
-
In the map, click the fiber point feature that requires fiber connection work.
-
From the connection menus, select the fiber assets that require connections between them.
-
Click Defaults. The connections you are about to create have properties such as Tray (if applicable), Type, and Attenuation Losses. It is best to set the values you want as the Defaults for upcoming connections before making them.
-
In the Edit Defaults dialog, set the properties for the upcoming connections and click Close.
The Tray field is visible only when both sides of Fiber Connections are set to fiber optic cables.
-
At the top of the Fiber Connections dialog, confirm you see your desired properties.
-
On one side, click an available stub once. Notice a green circle appears on the stub.
-
Click an available stub on the opposite side to complete the connection.
-
Use the Shift and Control keys to select multiple stubs. Click a stub on the other side where you want to start connecting each selected stub.
-
If you are mid-sketch of the connection and have not yet clicked both sides, you can press Esc to cancel your current connection.
-
If you have already connected the two sides and want to undo that edit, click the Cancel button at the bottom of the dialog. This rolls back any edits make prior to clicking Apply. There is no Undo button in Fiber Connections.
