Edit Connections

You can edit the attributes of existing connections in Fiber Connections. For example, you can update the Tray number, or correct an errant Splice Type/Attention Loss.

  1. Create a Session or opening an existing Session (see Best Practices Before Editing for more information).

  2. On the Main Menu > Fiber tab, click Fiber Connections.

  3. In the map, click the fiber point feature that requires fiber connection work.

  4. In the window that opens, use the connection drop-downs to find the fiber asset that needs updating. You can use either the right or left side to find the asset.

  5. Click the connection that needs updating once. Or, use Shift and Ctrl to choose multiple connections. Chosen connections are highlighted in blue.

  6. Click Edit Properties.

  7. In the Edit Properties dialog, set the properties for the upcoming connections. Take note of the number of connections selected to ensure to matches what you expect.

    • The Tray field is visible only when both sides of Fiber Connections are set to fiber optic cables.

    • You can update properties individually. For example, if you only wanted to update the Tray number, change the number, then click the green Apply arrow for that property. Then, repeat with other properties.

    • Or, you can set all four properties, then click Apply All.

  8. Edit the desired fields, click Apply All, then click Close when finished.

  9. In Fiber Connections, verify you see your new properties within the connection tables.

  10. Click Apply in the Fiber Connections dialog.

  11. Save your Session.
