Create a New Circuit

To create a new circuit, follow these steps:

1. On the Main Menu, click Fiber Manager > Fiber Tracing.

   

2. Perform a Full Path Trace for the circuit light path.

   IMPORTANT: Where you begin the Full Path Trace does matter, as it becomes the “header” for the circuit. We recommend the trace begins at a logical port end of the circuit path.

3. Once you are satisfied with the trace result (confirming it represents what you expected for the circuit), click Create Circuit Using Trace Results.

   

4. Click Create and enter the circuit name. The required Circuit Attributes, OBJECTID and GlobalID are populated for you.

   IMPORTANT: The circuit name must contain alphanumeric characters only. Special characters, such as punctuation marks and symbols are not allowed.

5. Close the Circuit Attributes dialog.

6. Optionally, confirm the circuit now exists within Fiber Circuits.

   1. On the Main Menu > Fiber Manager tab, click Fiber Circuits.

   2. In the Fiber Circuits pane, locate your new circuit.
