Run the Circuit Bulk Healing Tool

The Fiber Circuit Bulk Healing Tool builds or repairs all fiber circuits based on circuit headers stored in the circuit table. It ensures accurate circuit rebuilding, supports selective processing, and provides error handling and logging mechanisms.

If the data and the product configuration are valid then a circuit is properly built (or rebuilt) and attributes like length are valid, and any updates to circuit relationship tables are made as needed.

The tool creates a circuit only for rows in the Circuits table that have at least theses fields populated: Name, Circuit Header Globalid, Circuit Header Class Model Name.

To get started:

  1. Add Fiber Circuit Bulk Healing tool to the ribbon.

If needed, see the Customize the ribbon options Esri article.

  2. Open a session. Because edits are made, the tool must be run inside a session.

  3. Open the circuit table and verify there is a column called RunStatus.

If the column does not exist, create the column and save the table. Make sure the same RunStatus setting is selected from Solution Center. See the Circuits topic for more information.

  4. Select the number of entries you want the tool to process from the Circuit table. You can select all or specify a number.

  5. Decide and select to skip or process previous failures or successes and click Run. If you process records already created, the tool rebuilds the circuits already created.

As the tool runs, you can see a progress meter. Failures during circuit creation are logged and the tool moves to the next item in the list.

  6. When completed, the tool reports the number of successes and failures.

If the tool encounters failures, you can change open the log file to see the errors. To change the log level:

  1. Access the Fiber Manager SOE settings.

  2. Change the DiagnosticLogToFile setting to 1 or 2 as appropriate.

  3. Restart the feature service.

  4. Rerun the failed circuit creation attempts to capture the logs.

  5. Access the hidden log file on the ArcGIS Server.

See Configure the Fiber Manager SOE for details on this setting.
